Things you should keep in mind while scheduling your wedding day hair and makeup
Are you in two minds about considering if photos of you getting ready are necessary or not? Well, here are a few reasons why you should consider them and make sure that your timeline reflects the option to have them.
The preparations on your wedding day, is an intimate moment where a lot of conversations and unscripted moments happen. It is on this part of the day where the Hair, makeup and dress all come together. While working out the timeline of your day I would suggest to leave a good 2 hour of photography time to be able to photograph the preparations (this would be a lot shorter for the groom), this time will allow to make you feel relaxed and allow you to kick the day’s celebration in the right foot.
How long does wedding hair take?
Ideally it would be best for the photographer (aka Moi!) to come when all the bridesmaids have their hair and makeup done and your hair is done and makeup starting. To avoid stressful situations, like someone jumping in at the last minute wanting to get their make up done (this will add another 30 minutes to your timeline at least) then always maintain clear communication with your family and friends. If you are on the fence about having a make up trial then I would encourage you to get one done on your hens night or Bridal Shower day, this is the best time to try something different and experiment, NOT on the morning of your wedding, As a rough estimate hair preparation for the bridesmaids will take around 30-45 minutes each and the bride 1 hour plus the time to get dress (around 20 to 30 minutes).
